What type of student needs differentiation?

Every student can benefit from differentiated instruction.  Each student needs to make progress from where he or she begins at the start of the school year.  While differentiation supports growth in all students, it is particularly advantageous for those who differ significantly from the norm such as students with disabilities, English language learners, and gifted and talented students.
