How do I start implementing differentiation?
Start small and build from there. If possible, attend an introductory workshop presented by an expert on differentiation. After that, choose one or two strategies to try in your classroom. Evaluate successes, problems, and challenges. See which differentiation strategies work best for you. Find teachers in your school or district who have been using differentiation. Ask for their advice and assistance. Read books, online blogs, and articles written by experts on differentiation. If your first attempts are less successful than you hoped, don’t be discouraged. When implementing differentiated instruction, even the most successful teachers find they need to rework and rewrite some of their differentiated lessons.
